It wasn’t his proudest moment, but it meant keeping his family safe and his wife from imprisonment for having a 3rd child. He died by werewolf.
Mother: Liv Alder - A white witch and summoner. She was originally held captive by a band of trolls for most of her life but was freed by the Alliance and given a chance at life. Knowing little about human lives, she stumbled through for a while until she met Hector, who helped teach her how the world worked. They grew close and got married. She had her first child, Aleesia, which was approved by the Alliance. Her second child, Renton came only because Hector was a banker and was permitted a second child, especially as the first was a daughter. When she was pregnant with Keaton they almost had to go on the run, but Hector made a deal with his bosses and was given one more child allotment. Died by werewolf.

Character's Relationship with Parents Growing Up: Being the youngest child of three he was a bit spoiled by his parents, especially his father. Keaton was a Normal Child, which meant he had no magical abilities like his sister or brother did. His sister followed in their mother’s footsteps, but his brother did not, even though he could. Keaton, on the other hand, was free from magical responsibilities and could grow up with less trouble and restrictions, allowing him to do what he wanted most of the time. His father delighted in having a normal son and allowed him to go to school for art. Though he was well loved by his mother he didn’t understand her as much as he did his father. He was much more connected to the man than her. When his family died it devastated him, leaving him alone in the world to deal with his new plight on his own.
World History:
The United States of America was built much like we all know it, but around the time of the Civil War, witches, Warlocks and werewolves were used to fight the battles and the states were divided. That of the Western states where the wolves, trolls, vampires, witches and other mythical creatures ran wild, and a borderline down the center, where the rest of the world tried to run naturally. Alliance Territory was most of the united states, mexico and canada, excluding the west lands.
The Alliance was built from all three countries in North America, all of which banned together to try and stop the dirty Wildlings. The Wildling Territories ended up being the Western side of the North Americas. Think Alaska, the Yukon, British Columbia, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, some parts of Montana, California, Nevada, half of Utah, the corner of Arizona, and the peninsula and Gulf of California, Mexico.
The Alliance built a wall to keep the Wildlings out, cutting off those lands from the normal and natural people of the Alliance. Over time, some beings were granted access to the Alliance, so long as they pledged to be under its thumb. Witches did work in health fields. Warlocks worked in the military. Very rare was there anything like a werewolf or vampire allowed in, as they were considered too unpredictable.
Other than this divide, the world works as our world does, but there is one other difference. Overpopulation. While there is plenty of land in the west to expand to, they can’t access it, and overpopulation is starting to become a thing. People are only allowed one child. Two if the first is a daughter and both parents have a respectable line of work. The higher in power you are the more likely you can have two. In some cases, Three was allowed, but it was considered rare and you were considered important if you had three children.
There is a behind the scenes war starting, to try and overthrow the Wildlings to take back those lands and help slow this overpopulation mess.

Keaton was later born of proper birthright and no one had to leave, though Hector always felt ashamed of what he had done.
Raised in a mixed household, Keaton was born without any powers, unlike his mother and both siblings. This endeared him more to his father and they had a tight bond. He struggled with all things ‘abnormal’ and ‘supernatural’ and excelled at things like numbers and art. While his sister and brother had to practice grueling techniques for spells, he got to spread out on the floor and draw or paint. It did draw a divide between him and his siblings for many years.
In order to try and bring his family together, Hector took them all out to the woods for camping. It should have been safe, being that they were so far away from Wildlands. No Wildlings were permitted outside of the border wall. While camping though, Keaton ran into a man named Roger, who was camping out in the woods and had been for months. Living out there because he liked the wild. Keaton thought it was weird but the man seemed okay. They talked off and on in the week that the Alder’s were camping there.
Before the night they were to leave, a wolf attacked the camp, killing the entire family and mauling Keaton. The wolf, feeling a connection to the boy, intended to keep him as part of his pack, but the ruckus had called other hunters from a camp nearby, and the wolf was shot down. Normal werewolves, when killed, revert back to their natural human form, but this wolf did not. Nor were their bullets silver, so if he were a werewolf he should have healed, but did not. So they deemed the attack a wild animal attack, and took the kid to a hospital to be saved.
Little did they know that those of the Old Blood don’t revert back to human form at anytime they don’t want to. As for why he didn’t heal, a bullet to the brain will kill any werewolf, silver or not.
Because they were sure the boy wouldn’t turn, they didn’t put him out of his pain, but instead transported him to a hospital and had him saved by doctors and healers. Keaton was 14 when he was attacked. Losing his entire family was hard on the child, and he was placed in a foster family, since he had none of his own anymore. Healed, he stopped talking for a while. A distant child that continued to run away at every chance he could. Because he was considered a runner, the first time he transformed one night, no one thought anything about it, as he kept running before.
Alone in the woods, scared, bones breaking and claws ripping, he transformed into a werewolf for the first time and ravaged a sheep in a field. Waking up naked the next morning, scared, he freaked out and went on the run, searching for the wall to the wild lands. He was later caught and brought back home, kept in the system.
On a scholarship he was sent to school to learn accounting… and art. Following in his father’s footsteps, in a way. Over the years he was known as a runner, and would run away almost once a month every month, and no one could figure out why, or where he was going. When he was old enough to live on his own, it was easier to lock himself in a basement to hide. In school he met Aloise, who he found out was a natural born werewolf, registered, and going to school to learn to deal with animals. She discovered his secret and taught him tricks and tips on how to change, how to live a life in secret, and how to get by the Alliance Radar, though she advised him to register as well, to be safe.
He didn’t though, and when someone else discovered his secret, he went on the run, headed again for the wildlands. Only when he got there, he found the Alliance army starting to storm the wall, and start a fight with the Wildlings. Slaughtering creatures left and right. The war had started and Keaton had found himself right in the middle of it. No side to call home, he tried to escape towards the Yukon, which is where he was headed now.
